- For our trivia team name “Megaladong”. Imagine the possibilities.
This is Smilodon, more commonly known as a sabre-toothed tigre. Smilodon lived form nearly the begining of the Pleistocene epoch, to neaarly the end of the Pleistocene epoch. despite its name, it is not a tigre. It belongs to the extinct subfamily Machairodontinae, which included other American saber-toothed cats, including Xenosmilus, and Homotherium.
Not quite a dino, i know, but I hope prehistoric animals fall into the category of dinodialogue. The mammoth was one of many megafauna that roamed North America durring the Pleistocene Epoch. Tomorrow I will post another member of the North American Pleistocene megafauna.
